We have a balanced program to care for your property for all seasons!
For Your Lawn
v Pre-emergents: March –April: prevents germination of new crabgrass, foxtail, spurge, and other annual grasses.
Lawn 1
v Spring Weed-and-Feed: April – May: controls broadleaf weeds and has a balanced fertilizer. Allow 12-24 hours before watering.
Lawn 2
v Insecticide-and-Fertilizer: May-June: Controls sod webworm, (Larval stage of lawn moths) Billbugs (larval stage of a typical weevil/ snout Beetle),and white grubs. This too has a balanced fertilizer. Water ASAP.
Lawn 3
v
Insecticide-and-Fertilizer July-August: Controls sod webworm,
(Larval stage of lawn moths) Billbugs (larval stage of a typical weevil/
snout Beetle),and white grubs. This too has a balanced fertilizer. Water
ASAP.
Lawn 4
v
Fall Weed-and-Feed: September-October: Controls broadleaf weeds and
has a balanced fertilizer .Allow 12 -24 hours before watering. This
application is the most important for weed control.
v Winterizer: Balanced mixture of Fungicide and Nitrogen. This mixture is to control snow mold and other fungi. The Nitrogen will give the lawn nutrients over winter.
Trees, Shrubs, and Home
v Dormant Oil: Sprayed mid February-March on deciduous trees & bushes. Kills over-wintering insects and eggs. Great for scale insects. Coats and kills within 1 hour-not affected by rain after that time.
v
Tree 2 Insecticide:
Tree
insecticides are sprayed early May-June. This is a contact spray. This
means insects must come in contact with spray. Treatment is rain fast in
1 hour. Residual lasts about 4 weeks. Includes a spider barrier.
v
Tree 3 & 4 Insecticide:
Applications are the same as above- #3 will be applied July-August and
#4 is applied between September and October. Includes a spider barrier.
v
Pesticide Injection:
Injections are started in early spring as soon as the bark thaws, and
continued throughout the year effectively, but with the best results in
early spring. The systemic insecticide is injected into the cambium
layer of the tree. The sap moves the insecticide throughout the tree to
protect from insects.
v
Deep Root Feeding:
Nutrients are injected into the ground to be absorbed by the roots.
Typically, results are not immediate. It can take up to 1 - 2 months.
This application can be done in spring and fall.
v
Fungicide: These two applications for Pine trees are
done April through early May. This requires assistance from our
customer. Watch for bud burst or new growth and call office to schedule
the 1st application. The second application is applied 14 to
21 days later. This is a PREVENTITIVE treatment. The already infected
growth cannot be restored, but we can treat new growth preventing the
spread of disease.
v
Fruit Tree Applications:
Insecticides for fruit trees start around May 25th depending
on the season’s weather conditions. We want to begin about 10 days
after flower fall. Fruit trees will be given 2 early applications of
insecticide about 14-21 days apart. The purpose is to try to prevent
Codling Moth worms primarily in apple and cherry trees
v Spider Barriers and Washdowns: This insecticide application is for the exterior of homes and out buildings. We spray 3 feet up and 3 feet out around the base of the building. If there are shrubs along the building, they are included. We recommend 3 per season, but circumstances may require less. A wash down is just what it sounds like. Complete coverage of the entire building.
Vegetation Management
v
Sterilant: Penetrates soil and prevents vegetation up
to 1 year. This application is done in early spring only
v
Round up 1-3:
This
application is NOT selective meaning it will kill anything. Give
2 weeks to allow good kill before replanting. Round-up only kills
vegetation above ground. It does NOT prevent future growth.
v
Bed Pre emergent:
This
application is applied in March/April. This will help prevent weeds from
germinating in flowerbeds.
Watering Instructions
It is best to
water about 2 ˝ inches per week in the summer months. Customers can test
their sprinklers to determine output by setting out a tuna can or pie
plate to measure and time output.
Best time to
water is between 3 am and 9 am because air is not too humid to cause
fungus problems, but not so hot as to cause rapid evaporation.
